AYA Bank boosts National Sports Teams of Myanmar with 1 Billion MMK Donation

In a significant boost to Myanmar’s sports, AYA Bank has pledged a substantial donation of 1 billion MMK for Myanmar National Teams to support the country's representation at the upcoming 33 rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Thailand. This significant sponsorship underscores AYA Bank's corporate social responsibility efforts and commitment to promoting sports and empowering athletes across the nation. The support was extended to the Myanmar Olympic Committee with 100 million MMK donation by AYA Bank, reinforcing our commitment to fostering Myanmar’s sporting excellence on the international stage. Additional 100 million MMK in cash award was also presented to Myanmar Women’s Football Team on their recent triumph.
On 9 th March, 2025, a formal ceremony, hosted by the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) and led by U Zaw Zaw, Chairman of MFF and Founder Chairman of AYA Bank, marked the signing of the sponsorship agreement. AYA Bank has been a strong supporter of Myanmar football since the inception of the Myanmar National League (MNL), continuously investing in the development of athletes and the sport’s growth across all levels. The agreement was officially signed by Daw Jasmine Thazin Aung, CEO of AYA Bank, with U Nay Lin Htut, Chief Business Officer of AYA Bank, as the witness, and U Pyae Phyo Tayza, Vice Chairman of MFF, with U Htun Htun Aung, General Secretary of MFF, as the witness.
Myanmar will compete in four football and futsal categories in the 33 rd SEA Games, which will take place in December 2025 in Thailand. Preparations are underway, including hiring foreign coaches, conducting training camps, arranging friendly matches, and organizing joint training programs abroad to ensure strong performances.
In addition to our SEA Games initiative, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Myanmar Women’s National Football Team for their outstanding performance at the Four Nations Women’s International Football Championship. The team clinched the title by securing victory against host nation Nepal with a 2-0 win in the final match held at Dasharath Stadium on February 26, 2025.
