Posted on March 31, 2024

We are proud to share that AYA Bank PCL was in the spotlight at the Business Coalition for Gender Equality Association (BCGE) Membership Appreciation Event held on March 29, 2024, at the Malia Hotel. This event was a heartfelt nod to those advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in their workplaces, and we were right there among the honorees.

A special mention goes to Daw Khin Ma Ma, our Vice Chairman and Vice Chairperson of BCGE, along with key members of the board at BCGE, whose presence at the event underscored the significance we place on these values. This year, AYA Bank took home the Regional Level Gender Equality Assessment, GEARS, highlighting our commitment to gender equality and inclusive practices. Additionally, we were recognized as Impact Champions for our efforts in conducting ‘Inclusive Workplace’ session for SMEs. These acknowledgments reflect our dedication to empowering communities and promoting sustainable growth.

Heartfelt Congratulations to U Paul NYAN MYINT SOE Director of People, for receiving the GEARS Award, and to U Aung Myo Saw, Director of Corporate Affairs, for receiving the Impact Champion Appreciation on behalf of AYA Bank. Our collective passion and commitment have been crucial to achieving these milestones, and we extend our gratitude to all our team members involved in this journey.

AYA Bank's proactive engagement in the Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies (GEARS) diagnostic tool, developed collaboratively by Australia’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and Business Coalitions in Myanmar, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, showcases our steadfast dedication to fostering workplace gender equality. This initiative reflects our commitment to not only advancing gender equality within our organization but also setting a benchmark for others to follow.

Thanks to BCGE for this honor and to all our team members for their relentless dedication. We also wish to extend our gratitude to Daw Kyawt Kay Thi Win, Country Director and her team, whose leadership powers the BCGE, for their unwavering support and dedication to these causes. Being part of this event wasn’t just about receiving awards; it was an opportunity to engage with leaders from other member businesses, sharing insights and reaffirming our commitment to DEI. As we move forward, these recognitions remind us of the impact we can make through our continuous efforts in DEI.
